Original vintage Constructivist film magazine Soviet Screen Sovetsky Ekran #4 January 1927. It was a weekly magazine on recent developments in film in the USSR. The cover features a still from the film Sar-Pige (A woman), produced by Chuvashkino; the back cover features a still with actors Egorova and Smirnov from the film Ekaterina Izmailova, a 1926 silent Soviet film. The issue includes a caricature of Viktor Deni, a Russian satirist, cartoonist and poster artist. Deni was one of the major agitprop poster artists of the Bolshevist period; articles about film Metropolis, a 1927 German expressionist science-fiction drama film directed by Fritz Lang, and written by Thea von Harbou in collaboration with Lang from von Harbou's 1925 novel of the same name; the film The Wings of a Serf (Krylya kholopa), a 1926 Soviet silent historical film directed by Yuri Tarich; a story with illustrations by M. Getmansky; a portrait of the actor Amvrosy Buchma, a Ukrainian and Soviet stage and film actor, director and pedagogue; journey of cameraman N. Konstantinov in Turkey. Published by publishing house Teakinopechat, 15 pages. Good condition, tears on the spine, browning.
