Original vintage Constructivist film magazine Soviet Screen Sovetsky Ekran #1 January 1929. It was a weekly magazine on recent developments in film in the USSR. The front cover features a photograph by A Nikiforov of the actress R. Puzhnaja in the film The Last Attraction, a 1929 Soviet film directed by Ivan Pravov and Olga Preobrazhenskaya, based on a story by Marietta Shahinyan, produced by Sovkino; the back cover features a photograph of the actor Vsevolod Pudovkin in the film The Living Corpse, a 1968 Soviet drama film directed by Vladimir Vengerov. The issue includes articles about the process of selection of material for the filming, the script for the film Salamander, a 1928 Soviet-German silent biopic film directed by Grigori Roshal and based on real events and reveals the tragic episodes from the life of the Austrian biologist scientist-materialist Paul Kammerer, about the director Gavronsky; a portrait of the actress Tsesarskaya in the film Her Way (Yeyo Зut),The Master of the Wasteland, Soviet silent drama film directed by Kravchunovsky with portraits of the actors; accompanied by photographs by A Nikiforov, A Orlova, Y Khalip, N Okhlopkov.
