Original vintage Constructivist film magazine Soviet Screen Sovetsky Ekran #2 January 1929. It was a weekly magazine on recent developments in film in the USSR. The front cover features a photograph of the actress S. Yakovleva in the film Song of Spring, and the back cover features a photograph of the actor Yanshin in the film Simple Hearts by Y. Khalip. The issue includes various advertisements; the articles about the film The New Babylon, a 1929 silent historical drama film written and directed by Grigori Kozintsev and Leonid Trauberg; the development and production of the Soviet film industry with photographs by Ivanov-Alkiluev; about sound cinema in the USSR; inside is an insert with the libretto of the drama Adopted by the Black Friends featuring Norma Talmadge, an American actress and film producer of the silent era and Thomas Meighan, an American actor of silent films and early talkies. Published by publishing house Teakinopechat, 15 pages. Good condition, small tears on the cover, browning.
