Stroyim - We Are Building #1 1937

Issue #1 of Stroyim (We Are Building), a Soviet photojournalism magazine. Published in 1937.  A very interesting issue announcing the death of Grigol Ordzhonikidze (later known as Sergo Ordzhonikidze), a Georgian Bolshevik and Soviet politician who lived 1886-1937.The issue includes a photo of Soviet leaders, including Stalin, Molotov, Kaganovich and Ezhov, standing around the body of Ordzhonikidze. Other articles include a feature on steelworkers and a piece about theatre, with great photos of actors in costume, Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre, and actors on stage. Poor condition, paper skimming and paper losses on cover, staining and marks, creasing, tears, damage along the spine, pin holes. Folded horizontally.
