Stroyim - We Are Building #7 1937

Issue #7 of Stroyim (We Are Building), a Soviet constructivist magazine devoted to industrialisation, featuring photojournalism by artists including G Petrusov and A Rodchenko. Dated 1937. The magazine includes an article on an expedition to the North Pole, led by Otto Schmidt (1891-1956) and Mikhail Vodopyanov (1899-1980), with portraits of the crew and photos of the Avia-arktika plane used. Also includes a photo of Maxim Gorky and an article on 1 May 1937 in Moscow, with photos of Stalin, Molotov and other Soviet leaders waving to a crowd, crowds in Red square below the Kremlin, military parades and tanks. Fair condition, paper loss on spine, minor tears, creasing. Folded horizontally, ink stamp on back cover.
