English language edition of issue #1 1936 USSR in Construction. USSR in Construction was a constructivist publication dedicated to construction projects and industry in the USSR, published in Russian, French, English, Spanish and German 1930 to 1941 as a collaboration between some of the most esteemed Soviet artists of the time. This is an interesting issue dedicated to health resorts in the Soviet Union with a wide range of constructivist photos and photomontages. It includes an illustrated map of the resorts, with statistics on patient numbers, and photos of resorts and sanatoriums in Barvikh, Teberda, Kislovodsk, Zheleznovosk, Sochi, Sevastapol, Yalta and more. The photos show patients on balconies, playing games, people at the beach and swimming in the sea, as well as images of the scenery, the facilities available, and the architecture of the resorts. Also includes information on treatments for tuberculosis. Photos, maps and photomontages by D Debadov, Z Deyneka, and L Goldfail. Good condition, browning, staining, creasing.
