French language edition of the 1936 #9 USSR in Construction. USSR in Construction was a constructivist publication dedicated to construction projects and industry in the USSR, published in Russian, French, English and German 1930 to 1941 as a collaboration between some of the most esteemed Soviet artists of the time. This issue covers the Soviet Republic of Chuvashia, located in the Volga-Vyatka region. The cover features a traditional embroidery pattern. Text, photos, and photomontages inside cover topics including the fight against trachoma (an eye design), the high literacy rates in the region, agriculture, logging and regional music.
