English language version of issue #12 of USSR in Construction, published 1932. USSR in Construction was a publication dedicated to construction projects and industry in the USSR, published in Russian, French, English and German 1930 to 1941 as a collaboration between some of the most esteemed Soviet artists of the time. The issue explores the Khibins, or Khibiny Massif, a mountain range on the Kola Peninsula, situated within the Arctic circle. Stunning photography by Peshkov, Prekhner, Blokhin, Pliner, and Ribakov shows the tundra, geological expeditions in the Khibins, and life in the region. The issue includes a feature called 'From reindeer to Locomotive' and information on the development of industry and infrastructure.
