Issue #4 of USSR in Construction, 1937. USSR in Construction was a constructivist publication dedicated to construction projects and industry in the USSR, published in Russian, French, English, and German 1930 to 1941 as a collaboration between some of the most esteemed Soviet artists of the time. This issue is devoted to Maxim Gorky (1868 – 1936), and includes a timeline of his life, a map marked with his travels, photos of his homes, his friends, extracts of newspaper articles about him, and an insert with a copy of a page of his last publication, 'Klim Samgin'. Maxim Gorky was one of Russia's most celebrated authors and his death was heavily commemorated; in 2013, 2110 streets, avenues and lanes in Russia were named "Gorky", and another 395 were named "Maxim Gorky".
