English language version of USSR in Construction, #4 1938. USSR in Construction was a constructivist publication dedicated to construction projects and industry in the USSR, published in Russian, French, English, and German 1930 to 1941 as a collaboration between some of the most esteemed Soviet artists of the time. This issue is dedicated to the elections to the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. This issue features an image of the front cover of Pravda newspaper with a headline on the elections, photos of crowds holding posters in support of Stalin, and a great montage of photographs inside the letters CCCR (USSR). The front cover shows a photo of the Kremlin with an oversized red star at the top of the tower. Photography by A Rodchenko, M Alpert, G Zelma, M Kalashnikov, M Penson, N Petrov, M Prekhner, P Troshkin, M Troyanovski, A Shaihet and A Sterenberg, with artistic layout by A Rodchenko and V Stepanova. Poor condition, cover and last page are seperate with paper losses, tears and creasing, inner pages have staining, creasing.
