French edition of Issue #5 of USSR in Construction, published 1931. USSR in Construction was a publication dedicated to construction projects and industry in the USSR, published in Russian, French, English and German 1930 to 1941 as a collaboration between some of the most esteemed Soviet artists of the time. The issue looks at combined chemical companies in Voskresensk, Moscow Oblast. Photos show chemical plants and factories, with silos, the interior of a phosphate mill, and workers in gas masks. The issue also examines life in and around the chemical factories, with photos illustrating mass catering in the factories, the preparation of food and fisheries.
