English language version of USSR in Construction #5 1933. USSR in Construction was a constructivist publication dedicated to construction projects and industry in the USSR, published in Russian, French, English, and German 1930 to 1941 as a collaboration between some of the most esteemed Soviet artists of the time. This issue is dedicated to new plants and crops, and features photos by M Alpert and S Fridland. Of particular interest in this issue is a feature on Soviet expeditions to America, the Amazon River, Peru, Cuba, Mongolia, Abyssinia, and Trinidad. Also includes information on the All-Union Institute of Horticulture, irrigation at Chustroi, and a montage of photos titled 'Milking the Earth', focusing on The Scientific Research Soy Institute's new method for producing soy milk. Fair condition, inner page is loose, staining, tears on spine.
