Issue #8 of СССР на стройке / USSR in Construction, dates 1935. USSR in Construction was a constructivist publication dedicated to construction projects and industry in the USSR, published in Russian, French, English, and German 1930 to 1941 as a collaboration between some of the most esteemed Soviet artists of the time. This issue focuses on Moscow, and features stunning photography of the city. A great selection of maps show the city and its link to ports, and photos depict Stalin, factory workers, with a large feature dedicated to the construction of new metro lines. Another feature focuses on Moscow's famously beautiful metro stations, with photos of the grand platforms, decorative ceilings and statues, and escalators. A double page spread shows portraits of people involved in the construction of the metros. Fair condition, tears on the spine, staining, corners are creased, minor tears on edges of pages.
