French edition of issue #8 of CCCR Na Stroika / USSR in Construction, published 1938. USSR in Construction was a publication dedicated to construction projects and industry in the USSR, published in Russian, French, English and German 1930 to 1941 as a collaboration between some of the most esteemed Soviet artists of the time. The issue is devoted to the food industry. The cover features a great design with photos of foods in jars, cans and packets, and farm animals, on a yellow checked background. The issue includes photos of Stalin and A Mikoyan, a photomontage of agricultural workers farming and harvesting, photos of a bread factory with a bread making machine and the delivery of bread, as well as photos of fishing, an abatoir, farms, an outdoor cafe 'Stalin' in Moscow. A detached pull out gives statistics on USSR food production with illustrations. Translated by Leon Sobolev, designed by D. Moor, S. Senkin, Z. Deyneka and photos by A. Gostev, M. Menjeritski, and A. Tartakovski. Good condition, staining, creases, tears, folds. A photo of Stalin is lifting from the page.
