Issue #9 of SSSR Na Stroike (USSR in Construction). USSR in Construction was a constructivist publication dedicated to construction projects and industry in the USSR, published in Russian, French, English, and German 1930 to 1941 as a collaboration between some of the most esteemed Soviet artists of the time. This is a great issue which celebrates 15 years of the Soviet Republic Karelia, which was established June 27, 1923. The magazine features a great variety of photos and photomontage by N Troshin, S Fridlyand, G Petrysov, Goldstein, and A Skurikhin. Of particular interest is a large pull out with photos of a port, showing fishing boats and workers pulling in fishing nets. The issue also features great photomontage of the region's landscape, and a section devoted to logging and paper mills. Poor condition, creasing, tears, staining, paper loss on front cover, partially removed sticker on back cover, some pages are seperate.
