French edition of issue #9 of USSR in Construction. USSR in Construction was a publication dedicated to construction projects and industry in the USSR, published in Russian, French, English and German 1930 to 1941 as a collaboration between some of the most esteemed Soviet artists of the time. The issue celebrates the 40th anniversary of Moscow Art Theatre, featuring great photos of the founders and directors, C Stanislavsky and V Nemirovitch-Dantchenko. Also includes photos of the troupe, an insert with 'an example page of Stanislavski's director's copy of The Seagull, Act 3', photos of Maxim Gorki, the Moscow Art Theatre troupe at the Theatre des Champs-Elysees and scenes from plays. Photos and design by V Khodassevitch, M Sakharov, M Alpert, A Gornstein, V Minkevitch, N Petrov, M Prekhner, A Rakhmilovitch and L Smirnov. Good condition, staining, tears, creasing.
