Issue #9 of USSR in Construction, 1940. USSR in Construction was a monthly constructivist publication dedicated to construction projects and industry in the USSR, published in Russian, French, English, and German 1930 to 1941 as a collaboration between some of the most esteemed Soviet artists of the time. This issue is dedicated to Leningrad (now St Petersburg), and contains a great selection of photos of the city as well as paintings depicting Soviet leaders and protestors. Includes an interesting feature titled 'The City of Lenin is a City of Science and Culture' with portraits of academics and scientists. Poor condition, front and back cover are completely detached with tears, inner pages are in good condition. Ink mark and sticker on the cover.
