Vicenza Vicence

This is a French-language guidebook to the Italian city of Vicenza, published in Milan in 1937. It contains of maps, photographs and reproductions of the works of art held in Vicenza's collections. The publication is part of a larger series, in which guidebooks to cities such as Amsterdam, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Paris, Prague, Stockholm, and others (the whole list is to be found at the end) were published. This copy comes with a green leaflet on a separate sheet containing the following information in five languages (Italian, French, English, Spanish, and German): "Notice! The present publication was printed before 1943, and contains expressions and photographs reflecting the political situation of that time. But since the publication is still useful to the ends of tourist propaganda, for reasons of economy, rather than destroy it, it is being distributed with the necessary reservations." Excellent condition, tears on some edges, paper slightly faded, occasional stains on the covers. 40 pages.
