Soviet vintage photo album with descriptions, The Soviet Arctic, 1939. Issued for the World Fair in New York in 1939 and designed by Alexander Rodchenko and Varvara Stepanova. Published by The State Art Publishers, Moscow and Leningrad, 1939. The cover features the USSR camp with two red flags featuring the portrait on Stalin and the USSR flag with a hammer and sickle. The contents include the photo report with descriptions of the Soviet arctic expeditions to the Chukotsk Peninsula in the East and the Kola Peninsula in the West. The book also includes a coloured map which indicates the exploration and development of the Soviet Arctic. Great condition, hard cover's corners delicately curved, occasional stains. 114 pages.
