English language edition of The Circus by Toulouse-Lautrec, published by Paris Book Center Inc. of New York. Number 1328 of 1,500 copies. Contains 39 crayon drawings by Toulouse-Lautrec in colour. Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864-1901) was a French painter, illustrator, caricaturist and print maker; during his short but productive career he established himself as one of the best-known post-impressionist painters, whose work reflects aristocratic life in late ninteenth century Montmatre. Poor condition, damage to spine, paper covering is torn with paper losses. Inside pages in fair condition, but many are detached.
