Soviet weekly magazine Red Field / Красная Нива, issue №13, 25 March 1928. First published in 1922 by the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union. The issue commemorates the 60th birthday and 35 years of literary activity of Alexei Maximovich Peshkov (1868-1936), popularly known as Maxim Gorky, a Russian and Soviet writer and proponent of socialism; the back cover features advertising for a full collection of Gorky's works. The issue includes archive materials, excerpts from the memoirs by F Khitrovsky, Fyodor Gladkov, a letter by Gorky, articles, photographs, and drawings by Deni, Dmitriyev, I Repin, S Chekhonin, N Andreyev, with a Kukryniksy image at the centrefold, and Leipzig Fair article. Good condition, minor tears on the cover, light staining, pencil writing. 24 pages.
