Issue #9 of Soviet Union magazine, dated November 1950. Soviet Union was an illustrated monthly magazine published in Russian, Chinese, English, French, German and Spanish. This issue celebrates the 33rd anniversary of the Great October Socialist revolution, and features photos of people marching through Red Square in celebration, carrying banners which praise Stalin and communism. Includes 'Light over the Land', a feature on the electrification of the Soviet Union, with images of the Dnieper Hydroelectric Station, power plants, and images depicting electricity in everyday kolkhoz life. The issue also includes a great full page photo of Moscow at night, by A Garanin, and a full page painting 'V. I. Lenin with Delegates to the third All-Russian Congress of the Komsomol' (1920), by P Belousov. Very good condition, creasing on the cover.
