Saint Petersburg

This pocket-size edition is part of a larger French series "Les Capitales De L'Europe. Promenades Pittoresques" ["The Capitals of Europe. Picturesque Walks"], published in the 1850s and 1860s; devoted to St. Petersburg. A colourful illustration in the beginning is followed by an essay in French by Charles Malo. The date of the publication is not mentioned, but the pencil note by the previous owner of this copy suggests 1860. Great condition, paper occasionally stained, hard cover's corners curved, spine reinforced with red material tape, parts of the core in risk of separating, colours preserved, pencil notes. 36 pages.
