Original vintage Soviet monthly magazine Aviation and Chemistry / Aviatsiya i Himiya issue number 1 January 1928. It was the only scientific and technical illustrated magazine in the USSR on current affairs on aviation and chemistry. The magazine covered the integration of aviation and chemistry in all sectors of the economy. The cover features the illustration of the K-3 - the first Soviet-designed ambulance aircraft designed by engineer Kalinin. The issue includes articles about the defence industry; maintenance of an aircraft engine; production of essential oils; construction of shelters from air-chemical attacks; instructions how to build a simple model of an aircraft; Bakelite,a thermosetting phenol formaldehyde resin,formed from a condensation reaction of phenol with formaldehyde; new technical inventions in the USSR and abroad; transoceanic flights of Charles Lindbergh on The Spirit of St. Louis,the custom-built,single-engine,single-seat,high-wing monoplane that was flown by Charles Lindbergh on May 20–21,1927,on the first solo nonstop transatlantic flight from Long Island,New York,to Paris,France; red air fleet; creation of first light airplanes in Poland; organizations of the Osoaviakhim (The Society for the Assistance of Defense,Aircraft and Chemical Construction) in the Union republics,and other articles accompanied by photographs,drawings,and blueprints. Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
