New Spectator Novyi Zritel 1927
The present publication is a hand-made compilation of the first 26 volumes (1927) of the weekly magazine "Novyi Zritel'" ["The New Spectator"]. Dated between January and June 1927,they encompass theatre,music,cinema,and other performing arts,with the early editions focusing solely on theatre. The issues start with opening essays,followed by reviews from all-Moscow institutions,accompanied by numerous photographs and illustrations. The covers are mostly photomontages made of photographs from recent performances. Playbills including upcoming performances in Moscow,alongside librettos,form the crucial part of every issue. The condition differs from volume to volume,in most of them paper faded,tears on the edges,occasional cuts,sporadic cut-outs in the playbills,some stains,pencil and pen notes; in some issues paper in original standing (not faded).

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
