Repin,Russian realist painter,teacher,professor and member of the Imperial Academy of Arts. This issue is dedicated to 100th anniversary of L.Tolstoy birth. This issue contains such articles "About the meaning of Leo Tolstoy anniversary" by Anatoly Lunacharsky,Russian revolutionary,Soviet statesman,writer,translator,publicist and art critic; "From notebooks of L. Tolstoy","Lenin and Plekhanov about Tolstoy","Leo Tolstoy and revolution" by I. Kubikov,essay "Day of Tolstoy" by N. Akushin,Russian poet,literary critic,historian of literature; essay "Three witnesses" by A. Drozdov,"Episodes from Tolstoy's life. From memories of N. Gusev,former secretary." This issue contains art works by N. Ge,Russian renowned realist painter and an early Russian symbolist. As well as L. Pasternak,Russian post-impressionist painter. Published by "Izvestij TSIK USSR and VTSIK",110 000 copies. Fair condition,cover and some pages are partially detached. Staples are missing. Was part of bound yearly volume.
