Soviet weekly magazine Red Field,issue №39,9 Sept 1928. First published in 1922 by the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union. Cover has part of original painting of L. Tolstoy done by I. Repin,Russian realist painter,teacher,professor and member of the Imperial Academy of Arts. This issue is dedicated to 100th anniversary of L.Tolstoy birth. This issue contains such articles "About the meaning of Leo Tolstoy anniversary" by Anatoly Lunacharsky,Russian revolutionary,Soviet statesman,writer,translator,publicist and art critic; "From notebooks of L. Tolstoy","Lenin and Plekhanov about Tolstoy","Leo Tolstoy and revolution" by I. Kubikov,essay "Day of Tolstoy" by N. Akushin,Russian poet,literary critic,historian of literature; essay "Three witnesses" by A. Drozdov,"Episodes from Tolstoy's life. From memories of N. Gusev,former secretary." This issue contains art works by N. Ge,Russian renowned realist painter and an early Russian symbolist. As well as L. Pasternak,Russian post-impressionist painter. Published by "Izvestij TSIK USSR and VTSIK",110 000 copies. Fair condition,cover and some pages are partially detached. Staples are missing. Was part of bound yearly volume. Tears and loss of material on the spine. Minor dusting,rubbings and staining. Cancelled library stamp on the back cover. 20 pages.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
