Krasnaya Niva was a biweekly magazine,first published by the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union in 1922. The cover features an illustration "The Commune" made specifically for Red Field by Diego Rivera,a prominent Mexican painter; his large frescoes helped establish the mural movement in Mexican and international art.
