Original vintage Soviet constructivist magazine Science and Technology Nauka i Tehnika #14 July 1937. Nauka i Tehnika was a monthly magazine on scientific and technical breakthroughs in the USSR. The cover features a drawing of a ship by Yevgeny Voyshvillo,a Russian artist,best known for his work in the field of book illustration and seascape graphics. The issue includes articles about shells of modern artillery; modern flamethrowers; a device for testing metals for hardness; modern use of invisible rays; new scientific inventions in the USSR and abroad,such as a new gas generator for hydrogen,frost-resistant rubber,a new bus signaling system; a pedal plane,a stratostat or high-altitude balloons invented by Auguste Piccard,a Swiss physicist,inventor and explorer known for his record-breaking hydrogen balloon flights,with which he studied the Earth's upper atmosphere; and others accompanied by illustrations and schemes. What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
