Original vintage Constructivist film magazine Soviet Screen Sovetsky Ekran #34 August 1929. It was a weekly magazine on recent developments in film in the USSR. The front cover features a photograph of the actor G. Michurin in the film My Son,produced by Sovkino; the back cover features photographs from Chuvashkino Production,directed by Maksimov-Koshkinsky,starring Tanya Yuyu,Kapralov and Podvalny. The issue includes the articles about the cinema-quality crisis; the arrival of the Kabuki theater in Moscow; the colonization of cinema; Japanese cinema and theatrical tradition; the production of sound films using the Movietone sound system,an optical sound-on-film method of recording sound for motion pictures that guarantees synchronization between sound and picture; the film Joy and Druzhok,a Soviet film directed in 1928 by Vladimir Petrov and Mirian Khukhunashvili; various advertisements. Published by publishing house Teakinopechat,15 pages. Poor condition,spine and some pages are loose,tears on the spine and some pages,browning.

What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
