The book traces the development of the artist in photography; tells about the various principles of photo frame construction,creation of photomontages; work with other artists of his time,such as Mayakovsky; the creation of film posters for such films as Battleship Potemkin,a 1925 Soviet silent drama film directed by Sergei Eisenstein; teaching at the Vkhutemas,the Russian state art and technical school founded in 1920 in Moscow; work in the magazines,such as USSR in Construction,a monthly constructivist publication dedicated to construction projects and industry in the USSR. Features numerous photographs by Rodchenko,including portraits of his contemporaries: Elsa Triolet,Lilya Brik,Alexander Vesnin,Nikolai Aseyev,Esfir Shub,Alexander Dovzhenko,Evgenia Lemberg,and others. Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
