The evacuation was considered a great military achievement,the pilots involved becoming highly decorated heroes. Otto Yulievich Schmidt was the head of the SS Chelyuskin expedition; Ilya Leonidovich Baevsky was Deputy Head of the Expedition for Science; Lev Zakharovich Mekhlis was a prominent officer in the Red Army from 1937 to 1940. This book features portraits of key figures involved in the SS Chelyuskin expedition and subsequent rescue mission,a fold out map showing the evacuation route,and detailed accounts of the event. What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
