International Literature Internatsionalnaya Literatura #2 1934
International Literature was a monthly literary and political magazine published in the Soviet Union from 1933 to 1943. The magazine was based in Moscow. It was published by the International Association of Revolutionary Writers until December 1935. Then the Union of Soviet Writers took over. The magazine had Russian,French,English and German editions. It contained literary criticism of both Soviet and foreign literature,a chronicle of the international literary world,and the works of the "approved" authors,such as Romain Rolland,Ernest Hemingway,Richard Wright,Heinrich Mann,Lion Feuchtwanger,William Saroyan,André Maurois,Luigi Pirandello.This issue contains an illustration "For Cotton" by Louis Lozowick,a Russian-American painter and printmaker. He is recognized as an Art Deco and Precisionist artist,and mainly produced streamline,urban-inspired monochromatic lithographs in a career that spanned 50 years. Another Illustration included in this edition is entitled "Twenty Years Later" by Arthur Henry "Art" Young,an American cartoonist and writer. He is best known for his socialist cartoons,especially those drawn for the left-wing political magazine "The Masses" between 1911 and 1917. Good condition. Discolouration of the cover and pages. Published by State Publishing House for literary works,1934. 135 pages.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
