"Around the World" the oldest Russian and Soviet magazine focusing on popular science and geography,history,world culture,published since 1861. Cover illustration by V Sveshnikov,Soviet graphic artist. He was a Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR and was engaged in easel and circulation graphics. He studied at the graphic faculty of the Leningrad Institute of Painting,Sculpture and Architecture of the All-Russian Academy of Arts with V. M. Konashevich (thesis in the CVC - an illustration for the fairy tale by A. N. Ostrovsky “The Snow Maiden”). Participated in the First All-Union Exhibition of Posters "Posters in the Service of the Five-Year Plan" (1932,Moscow,State Tretyakov Gallery). List of this issue's artwork included illustrations by O Vereisky for the story "Cold Fire",V Minchikovsky for the story "Water",A Besperstov for the story "Eccentric Climate Country",Scheglov for the story "White-Breasted Leader". Published by "Komsomolskaya Pravda",1932. Good condition. Rubbings,staining. Pencil handwriting on the back cover. Scissor cuts on pages 9-32. 32 pages.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
