Orest Georgyevich Vereisky was a Soviet graphic artist,illustrator,teacher,academician of the Academy of Arts of the USSR (1983; corresponding member 1958),People's Artist of the USSR (1983),laureate of the USSR State Prize (1978). Vereisky is mostly known for his book graphics. He illustrated the works of M. A. Sholokhov,K. G. Paustovsky,A. A. Fadeev,A. N. Rybakov,M. M. Prishvin,I. A. Bunin,E. Hemingway and other writers. Published by CK VKP (b) "Pravda",1933. Fair condition. Frayed spine. Rubbings,loss of material on margins,staining,cropped cover. Pencil handwriting on the cover. What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
