The Woman Worker Rabotnitsa #27 1930
The Woman Worker is one of the oldest Russian magazines exclusively devoted to women and families. The magazine's basic theme is to advocate proletarian internationalism and international labour solidarity as a means to checkmate imperialism. Its advocacy is for "social justice, the emancipation of women, and worldwide peace." The magazine meant to make women workers aware of the political situation in the country and acted as a catalyst in the participation of women in the socialist revolution in Russia. The magazine paved the way for the women workers to "participate in state and public life and the building of communism". It was instrumental in awakening the women workers to the political reality of the times and brought them under the party's banner. It also helped in propagating the Leninist ideology of the socialist revolution. The front cover photo was done by G Petrusov. Georgy Petrusov was a Soviet photographer. His photographs were exhibited at the Multimedia Art Museum,Moscow in 2010-2011. Petrusov worked alongside the period’s most prolific avant-garde photographers, many of whom he would photograph throughout his career. Petrusov’s photographs are particularly striking for their well-organized space and deep perspective. This issue's artwork includes illustrations by M Hrapkovsky for the story "In the Sea". Published by the publishing house "Pravda". Good condition. Pen handwriting on the front cover. Dust staining, rubbings. 18 pages.

FAQs
More information about our posters and service.
Are your posters originals?
All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
