Original vintage Constructivist film magazine Soviet Screen Sovetsky Ekran #44 October 1928. It was a weekly magazine on recent developments in film in the USSR. The front cover features a photograph Greetings To Ten Years Of Komsomol! with actors A Vojcik,K Gradopolov and I Chuvelev by Y Khalip; the back cover features the photograph of the actor P Sobolevsky in the film The New Babylon,a 1929 silent historical drama film written and directed by Grigori Kozintsev and Leonid Trauberg. The film deals with the 1871 Paris Commune and the events leading to it. The issue includes articles with an excerpt from a conversation with Eisenstein,a Soviet film director and film theorist,a pioneer in the theory and practice of montage about Soviet cinema' about Ukrainian film directors; the film Glass Eye,the silent feature film (the second name is "Film about the film"),directed by Lilya Brik and Vitaly Zhemchuzhny in 1928 at the Mezhrabpomfilm studio; the film Katorga with creators' interview,the silent feature film,Yuli Raizman's directorial debut,created in 1928 at the Gosvoenkino studio.
