Original vintage Constructivist film magazine Soviet Screen Sovetsky Ekran #23 June 1929. It was a weekly magazine on recent developments in film in the USSR. The front cover features an actress in the role of the farmhand's daughter from the film The Downpour (Zlyva),a 1929 Soviet Ukrainian historical film-drama by Ivan Kavaleridze based on the epic poem Haidamaky by Taras Shevchenko; the back cover features an actor Nademsky as a vagrant gypsy in the film Clown George (Benefis klouna Zhorzha),a 1928 Soviet Ukrainian drama film,directed by Aleksandr Solovyov. The issue includes various advertisements; the articles about film expeditions; the film Turksib,a 1929 Soviet documentary film directed by Viktor Alexandrovitsh Turin documenting the building of the Turkestan–Siberia Railway; Japanese cinematography,and the film The Brave from Kyoto; expedition to the Pamir Mountains and the film Footstool of Death directed by Vladimir Schneiderov with photographs of the creators and the Tanymas River,the city of Osh,glaciers,and mountains; colour films in the amateur cinema; French cinema with shots from the movie by Jacques Feyder The New Gentlemen (Les nouveaux messieurs),a 1929 French silent film. What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
