Catalogue of Varvara Stepanova's work "Une Vie Constructiviste" written by Alexandre Lavrentiev. Stepanova as a designer created everything from posters and books to sets and costumes for local theatres. She became so involved with the world of theatre design that she even designed textiles for use in the manufacturing of the costumes for the productions she helped design. Her work,along with the work of the rest of the Russian avant-garde and Constructivist artists,helped pave the way for all modern day graphic designers as they created art with a purpose in hopes of bettering the society in which they lived. Has 350 illustration. Published by Philippe Sers Editeur,Paris. Excellent condition,white embossing on the spine of the book. Small pencil remark on the inside cover. Dust cover is in good condition,minor rubbings on the corners. 192 pages.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
