Chapaev
The book is a collection of articles dedicated to one of the most popular films in the Soviet Union: "Chapaev". It was awarded "Best Foreign Film" by the US National Board of Review in 1935 and the Grand-Prix of the Paris World Fair in 1937. In a 1978 poll of cinema critics,the film was considered one of the best 100 films in history. The book is illustrated with the stills from the movie and portraits of the actors and other people who contributed to the creation of the movie. Design of the book was done by I Krichevsky. Published by Kinofotoizdat in Moscow,1936. Acceptable condition. Hardcover,rubbings on the spine and margins of the cover. Prominent dust staining on the inside of the cover and some pages. Two library stamps and pen handwriting on page 3. Library stamps on pages 306 and 307.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
