Mechislav Dobrokovsky was a graphic artist,book and magazine illustrator,painter and poster artist. Dobrokovsky was a member of the Society of Easel Artists,participated in the 1st and the 3rd exhibitions of this society. Since 1923 Dobrokovsky collaborated with the magazine "Bezbozhnik u Stanka" (“Atheist at the Machine”),where he worked with A Deyneka,D Moor and M Cheremnykh. After becoming friends with D Moor and under his influence,Dobrokovsky became engaged in poster art. He created posters: "Kaveh the Blacksmith" (1921),"Song of the Collective (1928) and "We are Going Full Steam Ahead on the Path from Industrialization to Socialism" (1931). In 1925 Dobrokovsky was awarded a gold medal and a diploma at the International exhibition of fine and decorative arts in Paris. Fair condition. Rubbings and staining. Rusty staples. Are your posters originals?
All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.

Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
