Illustrations by K Eliseev for the story by G Gaydovsky “Azure Fire: Their Lie”. Konstantin Eliseev was a cartoonist,stage designer,costume designer,painter and graphic artist. Since the 1910s he worked in the field of magazine graphic art. Eliseev performed satirical drawings for various newspapers and magazines,such as Rech (“Speech”),Peterburgsky Zhurnal (“St. Petersburg Magazine”),Teatr I Iskusstvo (“Theatre and Art”). Eliseev took part in exhibitions in the Soviet Russia and abroad: the 6th group exhibition L’Araignée (“Spider”) in Paris (1925),the first exhibition of graphic art (1926),exhibition of works on revolutionary and Soviet themes (1930),the First exhibition of the Union of Soviet Artists (1931),the exhibitions Socialist Construction in visual arts (1931),Caricature in the service of Socialist Formation (1932) in Moscow and others. In 1945 Eliseev was conferred the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR (Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic) for his services in the field of Soviet art satire. Works by Konstantin Eliseev are in many museums and private collections. Articles include “In the Name of Lenin” by V Manuhin,“Growing Education” by V Kachurin and N Bobrov,“False Prince” by Harry Domell.
