Soviet Magazine Red Field,issue number 8,1928. First published in 1922 by the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union. Biweekly magazine. Cover illustration by R Frents. Rudolf Rudolfovich Frents was a Soviet and Russian painter,watercolourist,graphic artist,illustrator,and art teacher who lived and worked in Leningrad. He was a member of the Leningrad Union of Artists and one of the founders of the Leningrad school of painting,most famous for his battle and monumental painting. This issue's artwork includes illustration by M Fram entitled "Lenin and The Red Army",illustration by K Rotov for the story "100 Forces",a portrait of K E Voroshilov by A Gerasimov; illustration by R Frents entitled "Tachanka",illustration by A Deyneka for the article "How Rombes were Born",illustrations by A Istomin. Published by "Izvestiya TSIK USSR and VTSIK",110 000 copies. Fair condition. Frayed spine,rubbings,dust staining. Back cover is missing. Unbound copy from a yearly subscription volume,the bottom of the magazine is trimmed. Middle section of the magazine is detached.

Are your posters originals?
All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
