Original vintage Soviet constructivist magazine Science and Technology Nauka i Tehnika #20-21 April 1931. Nauka i Tehnika was a monthly magazine on scientific and technical breakthroughs in the USSR. The cover features a drawing of arc welding,which was first developed when Russian inventor Nikolai Benardos presented arc welding of metals using a carbon electrode at the International Exposition of Electricity,Paris in 1881. The issue includes articles about prospects for the oil industry; Soviet magnesium; tidal power stations,tin babbitt; the largest airship in the world,built in the USA; new inventions in aviation; factory welding in boiler repairs; a giant pressure gauge; the effect of weather on radio reception; a mobile mercury-rectifier plant and others, accompanied by illustrations and schemes. Published by Leningradsky Oblastlit,32 pages. Fair condition,tears on the spine and some pages,stain,browning.

What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
