Original vintage Constructivist film magazine Soviet Screen Sovetsky Ekran #40 October 1928. It was a weekly magazine on recent developments in film in the USSR. The cover features a portrait of artist Gershanin as Streshnev in the film First Cornet Streshnev (Pirveli korneti Streshniovi) by the State Film Industry of Georgia,a 1928 Soviet adventure film directed by Mikheil Chiaureli and Efim Dzigan; the back cover features actors from the film Eliso, a 1928 Soviet silent adventure film directed by Nikoloz Shengelaia and loosely based on the short story by Alexander Kazbegi,made in the Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic,featuring actor Kokhta Karalashvili. The issue includes articles about films Nanook of the North,Moana,and Chang: A Drama of the Wilderness, American silent documentary films,dedicated to the lives of the indigenous people; filming of indigenous people in Siberia; work on the film Russia of Nicholas II and Leo Tolstoy by Esfir Shub,a pioneering Soviet filmmaker and editor in both the mainstream and documentary field; portrait of Ada Voytsik,a Soviet actress. What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
