This issue is a catalogue of magazine covers of Soviet graphic design's "golden period". Created by A. Morozov,issue is aiming to show variety of graphic techniques and some common themes used by different artists. Contains reproduction of works by such notable artists: A. Rodchenko,Russian artist,sculptor,photographer and graphic designer. He was one of the founders of constructivism and Russian design; V. Stepanova,Soviet avant-garde artist,representative of constructivism,designer and poet; G. Klutsis,who was a pioneering Latvian photographer and major member of the Constructivist avant-garde in the early 20th century. He is known for the Soviet revolutionary and Stalinist propaganda; Lissitzky was a Russian artist,designer,photographer,typographer,polemicist and architect; M. Cheremnykh,Soviet graphic,cartoonist,book illustrator,poster master; Deni,Russian satirist,cartoonist and poster artist. Deni was one of the major agitprop poster artists of the Bolshevist period. S. Telingater,Soviet graphic artist,illustrator,printer,typographer,and book designer. Contains 261 examples 0f covers. Published "Kontrakt-kultura". Very good condition,minor rubbings and staining. 150 pages.

Are your posters originals?

All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity. 

What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
