Krokodil was a satirical magazine published in the Soviet Union. It was founded in 1922,at first as the satirical supplement to the Workers' Gazette,later becoming a separate publication. Since 1934,Crocodile has been the most important official mouthpiece of politics at all levels of social and political life. The magazine published both satirical materials and illustrations of significant achievements of the USSR. Constuctivist cover made by Yu Ganf,Soviet Russian graphic artist,a People's Artist of the USSR,especially known for his satirical cartoons in the Krokodil magazine. This issue is illustrated by various artists,such as Yu. Ganf,L. Brodaty,N. Radlov, K. Rotov,M. Hrapkovsky,L. Gencha,A. Topikov. Published by "Pravda" newspaper,300 000 copies. Poor condition,tears,dust staining,creases,tears and loss of material on the spine,pages are frayed,pencil handwriting on the back cover. 14 pages.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
