Constructivist magazine Ekran,issue number 24,1928. The ‘working newspaper’. Weekly magazine on recent developments in the USSR and abroad. A photograph by P Grohovsky on the front cover. Illustrations by M Dobrokovsky for the article "Andreishin's Love". Mechislav Dobrokovsky was a graphic artist,book and magazine illustrator,painter and poster artist. Dobrokovsky was a member of the Society of Easel Artists,participated in the 1st and the 3rd exhibitions of this society. Since 1923 Dobrokovsky collaborated with the magazine "Bezbozhnik u Stanka" (“Atheist at the Machine”),where he worked with A Deyneka,D Moor and M Cheremnykh. After becoming friends with D Moor and under his influence,Dobrokovsky became engaged in poster art. He created posters: "Kaveh the Blacksmith" (1921), "Song of the Collective (1928) and "We are Going Full Steam Ahead on the Path from Industrialization to Socialism" (1931). In 1925 Dobrokovsky was awarded a gold medal and a diploma at the International exhibition of fine and decorative arts in Paris. Photos by N Skryabin for the article "Gypsy Tales". What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
