"Women's Magazine" was a magazine focusing on various subjects,such as literature,art,health,current affairs,culinary recipes,handiwork,fashion and others. This issue's artwork includes illustrations by E Lineva for the story "Revenge",photos by S Fridlyand for the poem "Withering". Semyon Fridlyand (1905-1964) was a socially-grounded photographer with a remarkably gifted eye for colour. His career would begin at "Ogonek" when at age 20,he was invited to work as a photo laboratory assistant; and would conclude with "Ogonek",where he would eventually serve as its director. He published his photographs often in "Sovetskoe foto","Novyi Lev",and "USSR in Construction",three of the most important magazines for photography in the Soviet Union,and his works were included in the exhibition "Ten Years of Soviet Photography",1928,and in "Film und Foto",1929,the most influential international exhibition of photography in that era. Published by the publishing house "Ogonek". Good condition. Detached covers. 40 pages.

What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
