Original vintage Soviet constructivist magazine Science and Technology Nauka i Tehnika #6 January 1930. Nauka i Tehnika was a monthly magazine on scientific and technical breakthroughs in the USSR. The cover features the photograph of the cableway at the construction of the Rioni Hydroelectric Power Plant Georgia,located at Kutaisi,Imereti,Georgia,the construction took place from 1928 to 1933. The issue includes articles about the development of the electrical industry in the Ural; the flight of Chukhnovsky,a Russian and Soviet pilot and Arctic explorer; the destruction of Carnegie,an American brigantine yacht,equipped as a research vessel; speed limits for cars; measurements of the speed of an aircraft; production of artillery; pedestrian tunnel under the river Spree; brand marks on ancient monuments in the south of the USSR; and other scientific news accompanied by illustrations and schemes. What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
