Original vintage Soviet constructivist magazine Science and Technology Nauka i Tehnika #51 December 1931. Nauka i Tehnika was a monthly magazine on scientific and technical breakthroughs in the USSR. The cover features a new lighting method in the US using electric lighting production. The issue includes articles about a new way to treat infertility; a century of photography with portraits of Nicephore Niepce,a French inventor,usually credited as the inventor of photography and a pioneer in that field,and Louis Mande Daguerre,a French artist,and photographer,recognized for his invention of the eponymous daguerreotype process of photography; flying boats; air transport of the future; a new star in the constellation of the Pictor; modern explosives and their applications; a new rectifier; the 150th anniversary of the Leningrad Mining Institute; the study of Lake Imandra,a lake in the south-western part of the Kola Peninsula in Murmansk Oblast,Russia; the volcanoes of Hawaii Island,and other scientific news,accompanied by illustrations and schemes. Published by Leningradsky Gublit,24 pages. Poor condition,the spine and some pages are loose,tears on the spine,browning.

What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
