The issue includes articles about a new way to treat infertility; a century of photography with portraits of Nicephore Niepce,a French inventor,usually credited as the inventor of photography and a pioneer in that field,and Louis Mande Daguerre,a French artist,and photographer,recognized for his invention of the eponymous daguerreotype process of photography; flying boats; air transport of the future; a new star in the constellation of the Pictor; modern explosives and their applications; a new rectifier; the 150th anniversary of the Leningrad Mining Institute; the study of Lake Imandra,a lake in the south-western part of the Kola Peninsula in Murmansk Oblast,Russia; the volcanoes of Hawaii Island,and other scientific news,accompanied by illustrations and schemes.
